OUR FAMILY

Family-Led. Personally Invested.

A strong process matters, but the people leading it matter just as much. For more than 30 years, Sweaney Custom Homes has remained family-led. Our Family Driven Culture brings accessibility, continuity, personal accountability, and genuine relationships to every stage of the Integrated Design-Build Process.

Building a custom home means working closely together over an extended period of time. We get to know our clients, their families, how they live, and what matters most to them. Those relationships often extend well beyond the completion of the home—and many have grown into lasting friendships that we value as much as the homes we’ve built together.

THE SCH EXPERIENCE

FAQ

Learn what to expect from the SCH Experience, including how we keep you informed, guide important decisions, manage changes, and bring a personal, family-led approach to every stage of your custom home.

How involved will I be throughout the design and construction process?

You will be involved in the decisions that shape your home, without having to manage the complexity behind them. Sweaney Custom Homes provides the guidance, information, and support you need to make important decisions with confidence—from early planning and design through selections, construction, and completion.

Rather than coordinating architects, designers, engineers, trade partners, and suppliers yourself, you have one experienced team guiding the process and helping you understand what decisions are needed, when they need to be made, and how they may affect your home. This allows you to focus on the parts of building a custom home that are most meaningful to you while we manage the details required to bring your vision to life.

How will I receive updates about my custom home?

You should never have to wonder what is happening with your home or what comes next. Throughout your project, Sweaney Custom Homes provides clear, proactive communication so you can stay informed, understand upcoming decisions, and have confidence in the progress being made.

From design and preconstruction through construction and warranty, SCH uses a cloud-based project management system that provides a central place for important project information, communication, selections, schedules, documents, photos, and other relevant updates. This gives you convenient access to your project while helping keep information organized and the entire team connected.

When a decision is needed, we provide the context and guidance necessary to understand your options and make an informed choice. Combined with the personal accessibility of our family-led team, this creates a more transparent, organized, and connected building experience from the earliest planning stages through life in your completed home.

How does working with a family-led custom home builder affect the client experience?

Building a custom home is a significant personal and financial commitment, and you should know who is responsible for guiding your project. At Sweaney Custom Homes, our family-led approach provides continuity, accessibility, and personal accountability throughout the building experience.

Todd Sweaney provides Master Builder leadership across the project, while Dana Sweaney serves as a trusted client advocate, helping homeowners navigate important decisions while keeping their priorities, vision, and experience at the center of the process.

By intentionally limiting the number of homes we build, we are able to remain accessible and responsive while providing the personal attention each project deserves. The result is a building experience defined by trusted relationships, consistent leadership, and the confidence of knowing the people you chose to build your home remain personally invested in its success.

How are changes handled during the design and construction process?

Changes are a natural part of creating a custom home, but they should never leave you wondering what was requested, what it will cost, or how it may affect your project. Our goal is to give you the information you need to make each decision with clarity and confidence.

Sweaney Custom Homes uses a cloud-based project management system to keep change requests, pricing, approvals, and change orders organized and accessible in one place. This gives you clear visibility into each proposed change and its cost before you approve it, helping eliminate misunderstandings and unexpected surprises.

When a change is requested, our team coordinates the details with the appropriate architects, designers, engineers, trade partners, and suppliers to understand how it may affect cost, schedule, materials, and related work. Once approved, the change is documented and communicated to the appropriate team members so it can be incorporated into the project as intended.
