Italianate Golf Course Villa | Grand Islands at Seven Oaks, Bakersfield

Set along the golf course in Grand Islands at Seven Oaks, this Italianate estate evolved from the floor plan of Sweaney Custom Homes’ Ravenna model home, reinterpreted for a private custom residence and its unique setting.

The homeowners were drawn to the Ravenna’s original layout and flow, using it as the foundation for a home tailored to their individual needs. An Italianate exterior elevation gives the residence its own architectural identity, while the golf course homesite influenced the relationship between the home, outdoor living areas, and surrounding views.

Warm materials, arched architectural elements, detailed millwork, and traditionally inspired finishes carry the European character throughout the residence, creating a home that feels established and timeless rather than simply derived from a model plan.

The project illustrates an important part of the Sweaney Custom Homes approach: a proven design can provide a starting point, but the finished home should respond to its owners, its architecture, and its homesite.
